a few woes

Hi there, anyone who has been following me this week understands my situation. I built, stupidly, my app in TGB, not iTGB, anyhow, essentially I have simply been transferring all I did into iTGB however I have run into two problems.
1. when I run my game it crashes.
2. my player animation (idling) is of the same size (object is 32x32) however in TGB the actual sprite, at least what was visible was only a quarter of that size. It sat, very quietly in the middle, in other words it did not take up the whole 32x32 space. In iTGB however the object is still 32x32 but the animation is bloated. It is stretched out to fill the entire space. I am not sure why, any suggestions?
edit; cont from pt2.
I have just noticed, as I say, my level, opened up, everything appears to be fine. all objects, positions, sizes are correct. However, when I drag in those same elements into the editor fresh, they are a good 20% larger. I think this may have something to do with resolution, but in the level.t2d's I see no "resolution" or something like that to adjust.
3. Images are not being called.
I have redone every image i needed, created animations, etc. Saved then reloaded my game. All images are gone. They still exist in the folder "game/data/images" but are not called into the editor.
3 cont.
I just created a whole new project and loaded in one image, thinking one of my files may have corrupted the project, but the same thing happened. The message i get is...
How can this be? I created the image, simply calling into the editor, pulled it onto the level editor, saved, then reloaded the game just to test.
If anyone can help me out with these pressing issues I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.

Invalid Project Data
This project contains 1 invalid datablock. This is likely because a referenced image file was deleted from the project directory.

apparently no. Tho I am only in the baby stages of getting this working. I can not tell you specifically what I have done differently beyond removing my TGB dso files and letting the iTGB compiler compile it's own.

i'll be on it all day... to see if it breaks

OK, I got the previous build 1.3.1 working and it's so far not doing the sprite disappearing act.i'll be on it all day... to see if it breaks

cool, keep me posted and see if you can isolate what you did right/wrong in anything worth posting. I would be interested to hear.

Dan, did you d/l 1.3.1 recently, or did you already have that version from before?
Rennie, if you want to go use 1.3.1 and you're unable to d/l it, I can email you a copy of mine if you want it.
(make sure to keep backups of previous versions)

I would definitely recommend using 1.3.1 if you can d/l it. Version 1.4 is still a beta version, so it will be buggy. If it wasn't still full of bugs it wouldn't be a beta anymore ;). However, it appears as though GG have pulled 1.3.1 from the d/l page. At least when I go to my account page the only d/l I can see now is for the 1.4 beta version. It's seems a bit strange that I cannot d/l their latest non-beta software. Dan, did you d/l 1.3.1 recently, or did you already have that version from before?

1.3 and 1.3.1 and 1.2 etc are still available. Just click the > next to previous versions and you will get a long rollout

Marc, in my account I only see 1.4 beta. I click the > and nothing appears. Perhaps this is just an oversight (I have my politically correct hat on right now ;) ).

I would check it with another browser then ... cause as owner of TGB Pro you will have at very least TGB Pro in there

Rennie, I tried emailing you the files several times but it keeps failing so I think the file must be too big. Could you try logging into your account from a Mac in Safari, to see if that works?
06/20/2010 (4:04 pm)
Marc, you're right. When I log into using IE on my PC I cannot see any of the previous versions. But, if I log in using Safari on the Mac I can see all the way back to version 1.2.Rennie, I tried emailing you the files several times but it keeps failing so I think the file must be too big. Yes as I say, I can not from Safari or anything else. Maybe it' s an American/Canadian thing?

I'm using chrome and don't have the problem (neither on osx 10.6.4 nor on windows 7 64bit ult)

Whatever, glad I got it!

Yes it is there, my mistake. I did not see it underneath. For some reason I was thinking it had to be side by side...Whatever, glad I got it!

Perhaps GG could provide an FTP d/l option?
06/20/2010 (8:45 pm)
I'm using Windows XP, and IE doesn't work but FireFox does. On the Mac I'm using OSX 10.5, and Safari works ok. Not sure what's going on, but there is definitely a compatibility issue somewhere. Perhaps GG could provide an FTP d/l option?
#55
There is definitely a compatibility issue somewhere though, and GG need to take a look at their web site. I definitely do not see the previous versions when I use IE, and I am not making any mistakes. Since IE is the most widely used browser, I think GG need to check this out.

Rennie, cool I'm glad to hear that you got it. I've no problems with IE8 either, so I would assume that your IE runs on "paranoia security level" and as such disables any kind of scripting which naturally kills AJAX and other dynamic website technologies directly

Having said the above, this problem doesn't affect me anyway. I was only trying to help Rennie get his files.
06/20/2010 (9:19 pm)
Yeah, perhaps it is something to do with the security settings at my end. I'm using IE8 and I haven't changed any of the settings from default, so I'm not sure what the problem is, unless my anti-virus software has changed something without telling me (which is possible). My security level is set to medium-high. There are so many different browsers these days, with incompatibility issues, I think the best solution is to provide more than one way to access the files. FTP seems like a good 2nd option. At least that would potentially allow file-access for paranoid people like me, lol.Having said the above, this problem doesn't affect me anyway. I was only trying to help Rennie get his files.

I started a new project, ran it (with nothing in it, no sprites, scripts, behaviors) and it would not run. It said: can not find player executable. Hmm. So I tried running the example. It ran fine. So I took the example, duplicated it, and emptied out all meaningless sprites, particle effects and tileLayers. I added my own new sprite, dragged it into the editor and ran it, just to make sure I could see my sprite. A start I figured, however, all I get is a blank screen.
What is going on here!?!

OK, so I have stopped using 1.4.1 Beta (hopefully) and began to use 1.3.1. However, my first problems were quick to arrive. not finding the executable is cause your exe name is wrong in the folder. copy the one from the example and leave the rest as is (ok clear the dso in addition but otherwise leave it as is)

But why should I have to do anything when starting a new project? Also, but what about the second example? Just getting a black screen?
And which exe name do you mean? There are a few aren't there?
