Oil paint sun?

So I'm making a game where everything looks like an oil painting. I was hoping that someone out there would have thoughts and or the know how to make the sun into said oil painting. I have an image I can use I'm just not advanced enough to know how to do this.
I'm okay if its not possible I just thought it might look cool if i can do it.
Help if you can.

You could also disable the sun flare and use a painted skybox instead (with the sun painted on it). Much better looking than trying to come up with oil painting shaders.

However whilst this was okay for the sky, it didn't give the desired effect when applied to all objects - so I kinda dropped the full oil painting stylization in favour of "handpainted" textures using my tablet. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if I'd not wanted normal and specular mapping - which rather drowned out the inital painterly effect...
... of course if you do find a way around all of this - feel free to share. ;)

Which as Manoel says is the way I did it (courtesy of a Gimp filter).

And if you wanted to do something like this I have been using corel painter and my tablet, it makes wonderful paint effects of all kinds, Watercolor, oil, pastel, etc. And doing that is way better then using a GIMP or Photoshop filter. Alas it is more time consuming but it is well worth the outcome.
