I see the 2 letter TS throughout the code. What do the letters stand for? Tribes?

Most likely its Tribes Shape
Shape files (.dts) hold the worlds objects.

It stands for Three Space also known as 3-Space. It's a Dynamix thing, goes back almost 12 years!
