Z-fighting issue with leaves

At least I believe this could be the error.
When using the sticks and twigs models directly from the pack they appear to render nicely in game.
However I wanted to change the LOD settings so I imported the OBJ's into blender and exported them reworked without a problem.
They look fine except that the leaves (Which I am using alpha rejection on rather than LERP transparency) flicker with any movement as you look at them.
Any ideas what may cause this? The material setup I use is identical for the straight from the pack DTS or my Exported DTS.
If I use LERP transparency the leaves look much nicer but of course I don't get chadows from the leaves then.

I've seen that thread before and was the reason I stepped away from trying to solve the Lerp issue.
I actually use Alpha threshold now however when I export from Blender it seems the various leaf 'planes' flicker. It only happens when I am moving etc. When standing still it all looks fine.
I thought this might be a z plane issue but it probably isn't. It just remonds me of some old issues I had in another engine where two planes close together would battle for who was drawn on top.
These were Sticks and twigs pack trees I was fiddling with and exporting from Blender. The trees straight from the pack seemed fine so thought perhaps there was something flakey with the blender export or I was missing a step ;-)
