xCode will not load

I am getting an error when I try to load up xCode. It says...
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: @rpath/DevToolsFoundation.framework/Versions/A/DevToolsFoundation
Referenced from: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode
Reason: image not found
I am thinking that I may have moved the application into a different folder, but not sure which, if this is the case, it should be in. If anyone has any insight, please let me know.
Thanks,
Ren

I remember think i had just done a search and wanted to use it in my icon menu at the bottom of the screen, simple drag and pull from any folder but search on my OS. but I could put it on the desktop, so i put it there, then forgot where i pulled it from, simple error.

The easiest way to have Xcode stay in the dock is to right click on it in the dock once it's running and select Keep in Dock.

Does the program stop functioning at the end of the year or will it last regardless? Also, can I download XCode 3.2.2 and iPhone SDK 3.2 if I use OS X?

and yes they will continue to work, but your provisions will no longer be valid so you can no longer use your devices at all nor can you submit any app

You must use OSX 10.6 to download them and yes they will continue to work, but your provisions will no longer be valid so you can no longer use your devices at all nor can you submit any app

right, so I am best off, re-signing up and downloading 10.6 which should be available somewhere, right?

Why would you need to re-sign up? Or do you mean to renew your Apple Developer Program license?
To download Xcode all you need to do is sign into Apple's developer support site with your AppleID, go to the iPhone section and download it. Xcode is free.
If you need to upgrade OSX to 10.6 or higher then you need to purchase the OSX Snow Leopard upgrade from Apple. I believe they send you a physical disc.

hmm, so are you saying I would be unable to get XCode and the SDK for OS X now? Because if I don't have to, I would like not to.

No, you have to download it. You can't create anything for iDevices without it. If you're not running OSX 10.6 then you can download just fine, you just won't be able to install it.

let me be clear, I had XCode working fine, tho I moved it, the beginning of this thread, from the Developers folder, at the time I did not realize that was a no no. I since have not been able to get it to run right. I thought I would just download it fresh and install, but realized my dev license has expired, also, it seems only an XCode for Snow Leopard now exists.

ie. (for Mac)
Developers > XCode > Folder A > Folder B etc
If anyone can do this I would really appreciate it as it would save me rebooting and waiting for MAc to mail me a whole new OS. If you can do this, please email the photos, or post list here if you can, but my email address is renniemoffat@gmail.com
Thank You and Cheers.

Hi I am wondering, since I do believe I have all the bits that comes with an XCode download, folders, sub programs etc, could some one perhaps send me an image shot of the folder set up? ie.

If you want to continue iPhone development, you need to renew your developer license. As for your folder problem, it sounds like you are trying to jam a square peg into a round hole. I think you are only going to dig yourself deeper if you keep trying to get what you have to work. Your best option is just to remove the software, download the latest version of the software, and perform a clean install. Beyond doing that, you are operating outside of standard development practices which makes it difficult to help.

Xcode is free, but if I remember correctly you will need a license to get the iPhone SDK...especially if you want to use the latest versions or betas (which is helpful for project planning). If you want to continue iPhone development, you need to renew your developer license. I understand that Michael, you see, if you had read above is that I am working on OS X, and I believe, please correct me if I am wrong, but now, only versions for Snow Leopard exist. In which I have to upgrade my whole OS, a bit of a pain in the ___.

Correct. You will need 10.6+. It's a very low cost upgrade. Something like $30.

is it much of an ordeal, I mean, will it take a while. I think I read above that they ship a hard copy to you? A week or so? Plus costs, then I imagine will I have to save all my hard drive elsewhere while I load it or has Apple made it easy? Please tell me they have made it easy.::))

the majority will just work as before, some apps might have problems with GCD and those things that were deeply isntalled like VPN clients or alike will require reinstall.
optimally you have your important stuff saved though.

easy, you start it, wait during up0grade, are done and happy to go.the majority will just work as before, some apps might have problems with GCD and those things that were deeply isntalled like VPN clients or alike will require reinstall.

ok, Snow leopard here I come. Is it really that much better than OSX?

And yes, it's much better. There is very little visual difference, but lots of under-the-hood improvements. Faster and eating less disk space being among the important ones, and a whole lot of new features for developers. But you can find answers on Apple's site if you really don't believe us when we tell you it's the best thing since sliced milk.
Upgrading is painless and automatic. I've done it many times on different computers. Just follow the instructions from Apple.
And don't move official apps around; if it comes from Apple, leave them where they are. Same goes for Adobe. Anything that comes installed via a package installer shouldn't be moved unless you know what you're doing. Smart apps which just want you to drag them to Applications are position-independent. They're the ones you can move as you please.
Remove whatever pieces of Xcode and the SDK you have, and start over when you have upgraded to Snow Leopard.
