Some basic questions about TXB and TX2d

Hi. My goal is to develop a game for xbox live indy games. Here are my questions:
#1 I seem to have Torque X Builder in my account. Is that free or did I get that because I was an early adopter of the original T2d (torque game builder now).
#2 Can I design and play on my xbox a game I create with Torque X Builder? I have to join the 'creators club', right? I've heard there's a free trial so I'll be checking that out.
#3 When I try to install the "torque x Builder" that's in my account, I get an error saying that I need visual studio express 2005 c# edition, and xna express edition. Well, I can't find 'xna express edition' to download pretty much anywhere on microsoft's websites. I did install visual studio 2008 express C# and xna 3.1, but that didn't help with the installation problem.
#4 Is it worth it to upgrade to torque x 2d for $50?
#5 What are the requirements for submitting a game to the indy games on xbox live? How much of the points/money do you receive for each sale? How difficult is it to get real time multiplayer going?

#1: I don't know, however that version is way out of date.
#2: Yes you can.
#3: get the stuff from the XNA site: creators.xna.com/en-US/downloads for xna 3.1 you need VS 2008 not 2010. XNA 4 is a test version right now.
#4: $50 is cheap man! You can't buy a 360 game for $50. If you get the source code as well you are golden.
#5: The requirements are also on the XNA site as well as what the payouts are etc. You get $0.0121 per point, $0.6776 per dollar. It has paid out pretty well for me so far.

You can start building XNA games without paying a cent. You can download XNA 3.1 and VS Express 2008. The only thing you will not be able to do is deploy to the Xbox.#1: I don't know, however that version is way out of date.

I've written a lot about reducing the trial membership requirements, to allow more people to get them, but the XNA team doesn't want to do this. They tell me it is because the trial membership is primarily reserved as a learning tool for educators. In my mind we are all learners and possibly educators as well.
TorqueX kind of depends on people to have trial memberships in order to use their product. At least for Xbox builds. If I was TorqueX I would try to change the XNA team minds on the matter.
When the next Dreambuild play comes around I think it would be neat if we could get a million people registered.

In order to play your TorqueX created games on the Xbox you need to have at least a trial membership in the XNA creators club. If you are a student you can get a trial through Dreamspark, you can also register for DreamBuild Play and get a trial membership that way. I don't think there will be another Dreambuild play for awhile though.I've written a lot about reducing the trial membership requirements, to allow more people to get them, but the XNA team doesn't want to do this. I'm assuming that when I upgrade to Torque X 2d I will get a newer version of Torque X that works with XNA 3.1, right? Or do I just get the latest version of torque X from the creators club?
Also I read somewhere that you get Torque X Builder when you join the creators club. Is that old news, or is there no reason for me to upgrade to Torque X 2d?

Thanks for the replies. So do I need to buy torque x 2d to use torqueX with XNA 3.1 and visual studio express 2008? Like I mentioned above the Torque X Builder in my account required visual studio 2005 express and xna express edition. The version of the Torque X Builder installer is: torquex-1.0.5.1.msi. It is probably best if you use Gamestudio 3.1, visual studio express 2008 and torqueX.
The version of TorqueX for members of the creators club is currently not available.

Why is it not available? Will I get the newest version of torquex if i upgrade to torquex2d or do I have to wait until this becomes available again?

So why did the website offer me a $50 "upgrade"?
And why in my product page did I get an extremely old version of torque x builder instead of the latest 3.1.4.0? (I got something like 1.x)

Weird. I was able to register Torque x 2d 3.1.4.0 with my torque x builder registration code...So why did the website offer me a $50 "upgrade"?

You can download the trial version its 3.1, you get to play with it for 30 days it is all up to date, and then decide if you want to spend the $50. The trial version is the CC version basically, it's a binary only library that gets linked in. Spend the $50 and you can get the source as well so you can change things in or extend the engine if you wish.

It is not available because their are some issues with the 3D editor, so people complained, and tada, they pulled it down until it meets their specs. Sadly it looks like I'm late for the only free trial I am qualified for.
