IndieCon for those who can't make it to the US

I just read the post about IndieCon, and as a person who used to receive GDC advertisements in Australia, and desperately wished to go, I always feel a pang when there's a community event that you really want to go to, and can't due to obvious constraints. I mean I've been to AGDC, but IndieCon would be a different thing altogether.
It would be all nice if we could set up regional IndieCons, but that would be a long way off. However, would there be anyway for those who can't make it overseas to grab an Internet seat to peruse some of the proceedings?
I could understand that it might involve considerable cost (or maybe not, if you were lucky), but I'm quite sure there are people in a community of this size who would benefit from this kind of thing. You could do more than just a webcam too... IRC chats, competitions, that kind of gear.
Anyhow, an off-the-cuff idea.

All of the presentations last year I went to were excellent, and a lot of people put a lot of effort into detailing them for the online peps that couldn't make it. It would be great if we could get some video coverage setup / recorded so we could do something like a DVD of the event or just file downloads etc.
I think the internet connectivity was a bit expensive / flaky last year, it would be nice if someone could look into a more stable solution this year.
