I have seen this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY7YC8Kmiwc I have tried create this effect (ray effect?, in the minute 1:25 or 2:03), but I have not achieved. How can I create or activate this effect in Torque 3D? (I use the binary version).
I have active all effect in the options (included the rays and the advanced lighting), but I can't see the rays in any direction as in the video.
Another question..., What is the difference between "Torque game engine binary" and "Torque game engine advance"?
Thanks!

But as Bloodknight said, "trickery" is the order of the day in game design. Much of what looks fancy in gameplay is faked.
I remember when I first tried my hand at singleplayer modding CoD and threw some AI in. Left to their own devices they'd shy away from the most obvious points of cover - standing in the open looking like a right bunch of useless sods. I was so disappointed!
Careful control and gameplay scripting is what makes AI appear smart in-game, always tell them exactly what to do with any set of given variables and they'll fool the player into believing that they're not complete idiots.

Also in 1.0.1 you can just check the "lightrays" box, and the sun will produce the same effect. But as Bloodknight said, "trickery" is the order of the day in game design. Much of what looks fancy in gameplay is faked.

Some of those effects can be recreated using some 'trickery' a cone shaped object to match your spotlight parameters and a very translucent texture or shader. Of course the effect woukld be ruined when the camera or player went through it but for many areas it would work fine
