Surely GarageGames monitors the forums and can answer our question. I am going to give this to the end of the week and then buy the pack. If I can't use the emitter files out-of-box I will download the TGB trial and see if I can manually transfer the settings from the emitter files or something.

If you do end up getting it...please post what's involved in making the product usable with TX.
Thanks

Well, I'm in the process of buying concept artwork right now for my current game project. So I'm not going to purchase this just yet.If you do end up getting it...please post what's involved in making the product usable with TX.
Thanks

Any luck in getting the 2d Effects pack working with Torque X 2D ? I've nearly bought it myself with the same thoughts...any results ?

Don't spend your $30 on it if you're using TX 2D.

I just bought it but haven't had much luck with the way I thought it would be intended. It doesn't save the preset attributes of the effects either, so it's not a matter of simply loading the effect and the material associated with it. Don't spend your $30 on it if you're using TX 2D.

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone's used/purchased the 2D Effects Pack with Torque X. I know the scripts are written for TGB...and I understand that even the emitter files are of different formats (and that's totally lame). But has anyone looked at this pack purely from an asset standpoint?
It's got to have some pure assets, right? Images, sound files (cool), and script logic.
The images and audio are probably usable right out of the box. As for the scripts. It would seem to be a matter of looking at the included scripts and rewriting the logic as C# components.
The only "waste" here is probably in the emitter files which are most likely not human readable and probably make reference to parameters that exist in TGB but not in TX or like-purposed parameters that are named differently between TGB and TX.
It's $30...someone has to have bitten this bullet already. =P
If anyone has...please post your findings. If not...I may guinea pig it myself.
Thanks
