Music and Sound

Hi, I am new to the forum and new to torque. we are currently designing a game and would like to use the torque 2d engine to set it up. i was contacted to write the music and handle the overall sound for the game. My problem is that i know very little about the engine and have a couple of questions about the capabilities.

1. i found that the engine supports .wav and .ogg off the bat, are other formats supported? and what format would be best for a web based game?
2. What is the best length and quality for sound files, especially music, to avoid lagging in the game (always focusing for now on a web based game)?
3. what amount of programming knowledge do i need to embed the sound into the created levels? is there anywhere i could find the sound coding already done where i would only need to change the names or actions?

There are other questions i have but they are based on the answers to these. Thank you for your help.
