XSI to Torque

I'm currently working on the best workflow from XSI through MAX to Torque. Just modelling and texturing at the moment. So far this method seems the best:
modelling in XSI, rendermapping the finished shader to a single texture with explicit coordinates.
importing dotxsi format in max.
reapply material on diffuse channel, coords sort themselves out.
Any clues for animation before I start? A post a while back recommended that animating in Max would be easiest but I'm really keen to animate in XSI...

Plus you need the skin modifier and multi-res for some stuff and of course I am sure XSI does somthing similiar its not the same and probably wouldn't make through the export.
I really doubt anybody would have an XSI2DTS exporter anytime soon either. Most people think MAX is a hi end tool.
