Mounting Weapon Images and StaticShapes

Is there a way to mount a static shape to the 'camera'? In default T3D, the weapon seems to be mounted to the camera rather than the player in first person view. If I look up/down, the gun follows the camera and the player doesn't really...
I'd like to mount a static shape to the camera the same way, but I can't figure out what's doing it... If I toggle between first person and third person, my weapon changes mount positions between the player's hand in 3rd person and the camera in 1st person...
