easier way to make animations.

i have 5 seperate PNG images, is there an easier way to make an animation out of them rather then using GIMP to add them all to one image and make them cells, etc. Because when i add them to one image I can not get them aligned correctly, and its a mess. But anyway, is there an easier way?

If you have Inkscape you can import one image and make a tiled clone of said image, then use that as a grid to position the other images over.

A freeware product called "GlueIt" will stitch the images together with all the correct spacing etc.
