Heavy tank.. about right.

I have been playing with the heavy tank alot lately and have to say it seems about right.
It does have more punch with its weapon and fires very quickly.
Its main problems are that it gets picked on alot and it is very slow.
I have even played several scrum games against medium tanks while using the heavy and still managed to rack high scores due to its fast turn rate. However, if you add a light tank you loose any chance you had =).
All in all it is well balanced, when used as intended.

The tweaked version is not in effect. The tweaked tanks are only avaiable on the 'Heavy Testing' server. We are still talking over vhanges and improvements, and we need to get more feedback on the balance of the 'heavy testing' settings before we make the changes global.

I tend to kill HANKSTA every time I see him, fortunatly he's not very good, just annoying.

Hanksta was getting on my case a week or two ago, specifically targeting me. Don't know why, but it was frustrating. The game is not fun when you are being singled out.

About the heavy, I'm liking it to although I think the 4-shot would be better.

Yes, HANKSTA says he hates me and singles me out. A demo user named hunter repeatedly swears at me and singles me out for killing regardless of gametype, ditto demo user timbo. People seem to really resent me for some reason :SAbout the heavy, I'm liking it to although I think the 4-shot would be better.

As for the heavy, I agree that the 4 rounds are quite nice, it makes attacking a heavy *dangerous* and balances a bit the lack of speed.
You take the whole 4 rounds in the teeth it hurts!
I also like the better range/speed thing; that helps tactical games since the heavy can defend the goal from afar for example, even if it's too slow to reach it in time.

get better. Beating up (demo)s get boring!. As for HANKSTA and

The thing I think is missing from the heavy tank is weight. When you collide with a light, both go flying back the same amount. In a Newtonian sense, the heavy shouldn't fly back as far as the light. From a gameplay sense, it'd be nice to try having the heavy a little stronger in collisions, so that lights can't just bounce you around while unloading round after round into you... That said, the heavy in 'Heavy Testing' is deadly to those not expecting it, even with the lag...

Would have been nice if the heavy had a greater maximum angle of elevation so lobbing shots over a hill or obstacle could be possible. More like artillery than a tank of course, but might come in handy. Probably valid for all three types of thanks though.Andreas.
