Does torque 2d support the capacity for you to create a 2d mmo?

You would need to create the entire back-end architecture and determine what and when to send events using the current event-based networking scheme. The next version of Torque 2D will have much more robust networking, but you will still need to work on creating and tailoring a back-end solution for your MMO deployment strategy.

Also you should keep in mind that making an MMO is an advanced process and there are a lot of complicated decisions that need to be made when designing your networking structure, many of these are highly dependent on the specific game you are making.

I would wait until Torque 2D comes out if you only plan on making MMOs. I was looking at this blog and it looks like it may be easier to create an online MMO with T2D instead of TGB, but if you want to make 2D games in general, get TGB. Apparently the price will be deducted from T2D.
