ThinkTanks Scrum League

Hi,
I have created a team scrum league for full version users of ThinkTanks (demo users have no access to team scrum so they will only be able to play in the odd non team scrum exibition). I have set up a website for it and everythin you need to sign up is now online. In the near future there will even be a betting service for the league but I'm still hammering the wrinkles out of the system.
I've also set up a system to track player and team stats. Hopefully we can get a couple teams together and have some games in the coming weeks! All people of any skill level are welcome!
The url to the site is:

I look forward to getting some new players on board!

"But with so many new, eager players, if a match has to be 5 on 4, then so be it.'
I reply:
I disagree! I think we need to be even - it's crucial. I don't care if it's 3 regulars & 2 subs vs 5 regular, but I do think it matters to be even. Otherwise the most numerous team win for almost sure, given the caliber of players out there.
Plus it's so much better to fight a decent enemy, as oppose to fight a weakened one!

Your point is well taken and I too love a good even, fight. If the general consensus is to have it that way, then I'm in no position to disagree.
My thinking was that it's a TEAM league and, hence, a team competition. Some of the threads on these forums have discussed pre- and post-game chats for strategies, subbing, etc. and I believe it would just add another level of competitiveness to the game if the team was ultimately responsible for itself. In pro sports, if one member of a team doesn't show up, the opposing team doesn't say "Oh, that's all right! We'll play with one less!"
I know we're not a professional tank league, everything is all in good fun, and we're just in the formative stages. But it could be used as a building block for a league that could be fun as well as competitive from a team perspective.
By the way, I also know Tanky's machinegun sound all to well!

@RobVanDam Quit posting so many times.. use the pencil/paper icon on your post to edit your message since most people will start reading where they last posted they will see your message.
You should get a password from Loler in your e-mail.
@Jangles and Hugobrain.. I agree with you both.
Its wrong to punish someone just because they showed up and another teams player didn't... but it is also no fun to play a lop-sided game. Alternates would fix that.. players who can't make it to every game but try to be there when they can, they know if all fulltime players show up then they sit it out.
@All.. we are on our own here.. Bravetree doesn't have the time to make the changes we need to make league play optimal or to make other game styles (ctf) anytime soon.. we will have to make it work with what we have for quite some time.. if not forever. However, we seem to be doing it quite well... thanks again Loler.

I plan on updating it with some more usefull tips and tricks.. stuff I have learned since then.. maybe with some screenshot "NFL style chalkboard" stuff.
Definately will include screenshots of the next CTF match.

Well, I'm here to report on the 2pm match - I'm the only one that showed for either squad. (Sir Tanksalot can vouch) That that make it a win for TGS or what?

Just a thought.

Yeah like maybe each team should get 5pts per team member that turns up regardless of whether the game is played or not. (kind of like an extra bonus - and incentive to turn up) Subs would not qualify for such bonuses.Just a thought.

Neither have I seen anyone on other server ( I mean no leaguer).
I don't know if it's a TGS victory, however I do know it's a league defeat...
What can help us is to recruit new players, and have say 4 teams of 8+ people... then at least 3-4 could show up!
Loler are you there?
i don't mind doing some league work since I do HTML.

Yes it is a defeat for the league.
As you can tell from my previous posts, I had full intention of being there. However, Saturday afternoon games are very hard for me to make.. as I am sure they are for may others over the age of 13.
One suggestion has been stated before.. larger teams.. with team captains who will assure everyone gets ample playing time if everyone shows up.. we play two halves.. shouldn't be too tough.
I will be more than happy to post our teams (or any others) info on my site so we know who is playing and when.

I am sorry I missed.. but no offense.. I wouldn't trade last night for a victory today.. yes, it was that good ;)

Perhaps a list of reserve players, who fill in any gaps as required, and even then take over the team positions of people who regularly fail to show up. (demoting that person to the 'reserves' list for future reassignment)
I still think some kind of bonus should be awarded to the team players who actually show up - particularly if they have to sit out. Having a whole team turn up can then gain your team quite a few valuable points.

Im not sure larger teams is necessarily the best solution. It seems most weeks (I know I missed last weekends game) the whole of the TSB team is there, and member either have to take it in turns to sit out, or make up the numbers on the other team thus meaning they dont get any points or goals that week.Perhaps a list of reserve players, who fill in any gaps as required, and even then take over the team positions of people who regularly fail to show up. How about this: 6 players per team, and each game If everyone on the team is about to play, one sits out. The sit-outs would rotate.~Clax

Why is it we - The Smiling Bots - have to adjust to the inadequacies of the other teams? Why is that we are the only team to have already gotten it together to inform each other of absences ? Why is it we are the only team exchanging e-mails and discussing strategies? We didn't create our team, but we behave like one.
Loler has obviously bailed and we have to set up a new site. I suggest Dork or Nathan or Hugo takes care of it. Those teams missing players are reponsible for their own subs. If Saturdays are bad, then change it. End of story.
If the games are 5 on 4 or 5 on 0, so be it. If you don't like being outnumbered and find the game uneven, there are always other matches on other servers to play. What's the point of a league if we have to compensate for the loosey-goosey attitude of the other teams?
