Monetize Games and Social Network?

by Edinson Mejia · in iTorque 2D · 12/31/2009 (1:27 pm) · 4 replies

Hi guys, I'm working on a Iphone Game using iTge due the isolation of forums for iTge i think is best to put this in iT2d because there is more users on this field and the topic is general to iphone games, not 3D only...

The first topic is about monetize:

Has anyone tested any monetize system for your iphone games?

just like:

http://www.greystripe.com/

or

http://www.admob.com/

etc... ???

----------------------------------

The second topic is about platform social games for iphone

just like:

http://www.plusplus.com

this appears great for our games and make us free to implement something like leader board, users registration, avatars and it promotes the games that use this system.

This topic is to interchange ideas and knowledge about this and the issues about to implement this tech to our Torque Game Engine, be free to post :)

PD: sorry for the bad English.

I think monetizing iphone games these days best works with mobclix and similar that combine different ad networkings.

AdMob got added to my personal black list after problems with their fill rate. If you use their crossadvertising of own stuff to "fill up the gap to 100% fill" it actually gets even worse, you get even less advertising and the fill rate drops even further.

My experience using Admob is that their fill rate is (for me) terrible. I used their ad solution for 2 month and got a fill rate of 50%, meaning if your game had an impression of 100,000 ad impression per day only 50,000 of those request will be sent with an ad. And on top of that, is that the rate they pay per click is terrible, I got like 0.01$ - 0.03$ per click.

On the other hand, Mobclix have been working pretty good for me. I'm getting about 3 - 10 times more using Mobclix compare to Admob.

that reflects the experience I and other former AdMob users have made fillrate wise.
if you disable the own crossadvertising you can potentially get it up to 60-90% again (depending on your apps rank basically), but even then it will always be terrible and the "fly downwards" on the price per click makes the situation not the slightest bit better

Hey Gang,

If you are unhappy with your fill rates, more of a reason for you to try out TapIt!'s platform. We have about a 95% fill rate right now (as I just checked our stats board) and we have great support. We truly try to take care of all of our publishers and advertisers, everyday we guide publishers who sign up on our platform and assist them in any way we can.

I can tell you that TapIt! Mobile Advertising is a great bet because we not only have a state of the art ad platform with RTB enabled functions and auto optimization capabilities but also because we have a great, clean user interface and dashboard that allows for customization. Furthermore, we also made sure we included an advanced reporting tool for publishers giving you the important metrics you desire. In addition, our fill rates are solid and stable and we have great support - we are always willing to help!

We want to make money WITH you guys, we know you put in a lot of work and want to get you paid. We pay on time and give at least 60% to publishers...some times more depending on your app. If you have questions ping me!
