Project name:

Tales Of Kalenor

Brief Description:

ToK is a Unique 3D fantasy mmorpg within its early stages of development. We have started about 10 months ago and have most ideas and game base down.ToK will be a first person/3rd person skill based, open pvp game.Unlike other free for all pvp games where everyone is killing each other and the penalties are few, ToK will have a karma system making death for a bad karma player a hard trip back home, stopping the mindless ganking of players within city limits. There will be a strong emphasis on political strategy within the game world and the game will be totally run by players, no npc's (or very few) to buy stuff off.The only npc's will be ones hired by players to sell items etc. Player run cities and kingdoms get to choose the rules of the area.We will try to make this game as much of a sandbox as we can with fun things to do besides pvp/pve. We hope to have a pre alpha test once visual3d.net goes 1.0 where players can explore some of the world and once we get some models so that we can keep our community happy.

Alot more information is on our forums http://talesofkalenor.com/forum/index.php?act=idx

Target aim:

We plant to be either pay to play or buy to play but either way it will be much cheaper than most mainstream mmo's.

Compensation:

At the moment you will most likely not get payed (unless you do a small one job then its possible) but IF the game does every finish there will be the chance to receive profit for helping out.

Talent needed:

1) 3d modelers
2)concept artists
3)lore writers

Team structure:

Julian: Team leader, Music composer
Me[Mike]:co leader, Terrain
Tuncer: 3d modeler
Mordacai: python programmer

Michael, as with most people who post about MMOs here, I'd like to direct you to a thread I created which might help you out. There's a good deal of information in there culled from other MMO projects, both successful and otherwise that you could probably use. Also, there's almost a hundred links below the original post regarding further information on many other aspects of MMO development. Hope it helps.

Sent you a email jenning, and thanks for the info Ted but we've been working on this for almost a year and now all we need is content for the world as how the game is going to work is pretty much all figured out.
