Updating from 1.0 to 1.02 mac

by BusError · in ThinkTanks · 05/23/2003 (11:15 am) · 1 replies

1) There was no announce anywhere that the mac game had been updated
2) There is zero release notes with the new version
3) The new 1.02 update *nuked my prefs, including tanks, names, scores etc!*

Sorry about that. The readme received a minor update but that's about all the "release notes" we included. This release fixes a few bugs that were fixed for the Linux and Window's version (fixed between the time the mac version was finished and the linux/window's version was released).

1) Fixes server bug whereby player connections would intermittently freeze. This would occur if someone tried to join a full game or join a password protected game.

2) Fixed a server error whereby the scrum goal would sometimes not spawn for some players.

3) Fixed some formatting errors in the hi score lists.

Admittedly, these were not huge updates, but we wanted to bring mac players up to the same version as Windows/Linux players (in particular, I had noticed several password protected Mac servers that would be vulnerable to item #1).

Re: preserving your player stats: unfortunately, the way the mac installer works this is not possible to do automatically. To do it manually, go into the application package and find the player.cs file and hiscores.cs (found in game/client) in the old version. Copy these into the respective locations on the new version.
