Hello community,
Can anyone out there in the community confirm that PhysX data exported from Maya works with Torque 3d? Do you have to use 3dsmax to export PhysX data?
Any response would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I am in the process of testing out the Torque 3D demo and our pipeline will be using Maya. Any idea when a maya version of this plugin would be available?

I do not think you will be seeing a T3D-physX-Maya plugin from GG. You'll be better off with writing it yourself. At this time, there are ONLY plugins for max2008 and Max2009 that give proper data and you probably already know this. ;)
..any other specific questions, just ask.

I'm pretty sure they only developed the PhysX-Max plugin so that PhysX could be shown in T3D to prospective clients/buyers. A "hype" if you will. They keep claiming that the PhysX implementation is an example solution and that the feature for T3D is the Physics abstraction layer.I do not think you will be seeing a T3D-physX-Maya plugin from GG. I have not looked into the Maya physx issue and further, and can offer no additional information. In other words, I still havent been able to successfully export PhysX data from Maya.
It would be possible to write a mel script to export the correct PhysX information from Maya, using the `getattr`,fprint, ect.
Is that what you were planning on doing , eb?
Thanks again for your response.

I am using Maya2010 for contracts with an animation studio but I don't think I will be jumping on this subject without TP stating they will support PhysX in T3D rather than just giving us example implementations.

I have not tried Physx from Maya yet. I have not even bothered to conjure a plan of attack either. & sadly I have no time at the moment.I am using Maya2010 for contracts with an animation studio but I don't think I will be jumping on this subject without TP stating they will support PhysX in T3D rather than just giving us example implementations.

- Have you found out anything ?..or should I look around and see what I find ?
Reason: I have created a tool for 3dsMax named "Physit!" to be used with T3D. I am thinking about rewriting it for Maya.
