Torque 3D Engine + Linux

I'm considering getting the Binary only kit and I have been trying to track down details on support for the Linux platform. As I only have access to the public forums and can't turn anything solid up I was hoping I could get an answer.

What sort of support for the Linux environment does the Torque 3D engine offer? Is it that we can just compile to a Linux binary, or are there Linux developer tools too?

Linux is community supported. We do have people working on a linux server, but I do not know if the full engine will be ported by the community. The binary version is Mac/Windows only.

If the engine were ported to Linux, would the binary package have access to that? Are there any intentions/plans to have Linux development tools at all?

Since it is community maintained, I'm not sure if there would be a linux binary available.
