Where can I buy?

All I want is the original TGE, not the $1K tge-3d newer one. It used to be http://www.torquepowered.com/products/111 or http://www.torquepowered.com/products/tge
But it's not there so I'm guessing they deleted it :( I don't have the money to buy a 1 grand game engine. Please help.

Oh no D: I really wanted the original version. Do you know anyone who happens to sell it? Btw, can you explain "binary"? Sorry, not very familiar with stuff like that.

Nevermind about the binary. I was waiting all year to get this for Xmas. Oh well. Where can I get TGEA?

TGEA was discontinued as a product as well on November 1st. The binary version of Torque 3D means that it is just the executable. It has all the features and tools of the Pro version except for the source code and Beta/Alpha access.

Well that ruins everything. 2 years of monthly hosting for nothing :( Thanks Scott

@Mitchell - Keep in mind, TGE was being sold for $150. Torque 3D binary is sold for $100, and is leagues above anything TGE could have ever accomplished. Just a reminder.

EDIT: Like I said, I'm new to this stuff.

Yeah but don't you need the game engine source to make a full game?EDIT: Like I said, I'm new to this stuff.

In addition to that, users who own the binary can work with users who own the Pro version. You cannot share source code with each other, but a Pro user can compile source changes and give the final binary to someone who owns regular Torque 3D.

@Mitchell - Depends on the type of game you want to make. Source access does not have to be a deal breaker for making a full game. It really depends on your game's design and tech requirements. In addition to that, users who own the binary can work with users who own the Pro version. You cannot share source code with each other, but a Pro user can compile source changes and give the final binary to someone who owns regular Torque 3D.

I've heard in multiple posts if you own T3D then you can download TGE/TGEA from your account page.

@GG: would the $100 binary version include TGE/TGEA?I've heard in multiple posts if you own T3D then you can download TGE/TGEA from your account page.

So if I was planning to make a game with trees, animation and TCPObjects, plus my own guis, I could do that without the source?

@CSMP - I think that is still for Pro owners only.

And would the TGE price deduct further or would we just deduct the $250 if the binary version was purchased?
Thanks for the quick response btw.

Ok, so would the $100 version still cut off $250 from the Pro pricetag? And would the TGE price deduct further or would we just deduct the $250 if the binary version was purchased?
Thanks for the quick response btw.

So, if you do not own anything and purchase Torque 3D binary right now ($100), you $250 will be taken off the Pro purchase. If you purchase Torque 3D after December, it will cost $250 which will be applied as a discount toward a Pro purchase.
There is no stacking of previous products, however. You cannot add the cost of TGE (or TGEA) to the cost of Torque 3D, and deduct that from the Pro license. Make sense?

@CSMP - The highest paid product you already own is what is deducted from a Pro purchase. So, if you do not own anything and purchase Torque 3D binary right now ($100), you $250 will be taken off the Pro purchase. If you purchase Torque 3D after December, it will cost $250 which will be applied as a discount toward a Pro purchase.

Also would TGEA owners have the T3D binary version available or would they need to pay another $100 (through dec31)?
And would the Binary version include T3D forum access?
I'm sorry for the barrage of questions but I am considering my options, Thank you very much for your support! :)

TGEA owners still have to pay the $100 for the binary, or $250 when it switches prices in January. I don't think the private forums open up for Torque 3D, but I know they do for Professional.

Purchasing either Torque3D or Torque3D Pro does grant access to the private forums.

just an 'out there' observation, but would it not be a reasonable idea to hand out copies of TGE to purchasers of T3D Binary?

I purchased the non-pro (NP) version during the December '09 offering but I am a little confused on where to go from here. I wanted to get Torsion for scripting but since I bought the non-pro version can I still script or does that require the pro version, in order to insert the scripts?
