Hi Ken. Shouldn't that be "Can we play on a Lan...?". The answer is yes :). In addition to searching for internet games, ThinkTanks searches for Lan games?

hehe - my kids had me tied up and forced me to type that in with my nose. At dart-gun point, no less.

They tried to search out the game server (on the LAN but not dedicated), but gave up after waiting for about 3 minutes. The server is running on XP, and the the client on 98. IPX is installed on both. The same configuration works fine for Delta Force 2 LAN play (but not Delta Force : Blackhawk Down...which might be meaningful)

Hmmm...we have had one report of an update issue where the "Searching..." line remains. If you click on this line it should reveal the lan server. Not sure why that happens, but I could never reproduce it on my machine (never heard that before, have you? :).

If you have a firewall, you need to make sure the right ports are open. By default, a dedicated server needs port 28000 open (and each successive server uses the next in line port: 28001, 28002, etc). A client will also need 28000 open.

Of course, if your lan is completely inside the firewall, that's another matter...

Ken and Jason, try this: Open up the "ThinkTanks\game\client\prefs.cs" file and change this line:

$pref::Master0 = "2:master.garagegames.com:28002";

to this:

$pref::Master0 = "2:216.116.32.49:28002";
