Animated textures/materials

Hey guys.

I'd like to implement animated textures for TSStatics - basically a png sequence. I was wondering if anyone had any advice. For instance, would it be better to

(a) have a different Material for each sequence-frame, and have the TSStatic change its Material every tick

or

(b) have a special kind of Material which loads a different png every tick.

Does anyone have any opinions on that, or any further advice?

Cheers,
Ian

If i remember correctly Material supports frames of animation that are tiled in a single texture. So you setup NxN frames of animation in a single DDS/PNG and enable the feature in the material editor.

Hi,

Not sure what type of effect you are going for. Another option is setting up a IFL for animated textures.
