Is 3D Studio max the only program that you can use to create animations and export characters and models for use in Torque or are there plugins for Maya as well?

Thanks!

...if you do decide to use Ms3d for mesh and animation creation, and build your own skeleton and link your custom animations to it, why does the engine crash if you use a sequence name that may be defined by a .DSQ file name? or how to overcome the occurance.

I created my own death sequence in Ms3d and exported it along with a .DTS model that; when run at gametime and called upon that .DSQ sequence name, crashed the engine?
