Want to Add Members to a Studio

by Kraig McFadden · in Jobs · 10/31/2009 (3:22 pm) · 3 replies

I'm new to this whole studio thing, so help and constructive criticism is appreciated:

I am a founding member of a studio known as Darkrend Studios. I want the studio to make games and stuff, but right now there's only three members. Also, we don't have any patents, trademarks, etc. To make things even worse, we don't have any software to make professional games right now. However, I made this account so I can get some software, and so I can get some help in making a successful studio. There's no money involved as of yet, but when we release products, money will certainly be involved.
The three members we have are myself: creative director, designer, writer, music, and some art
my friend (direct contact): artist, creative director, writer, music, and designer
my other friend (online contact): programmer, designer

We really need some assistance, so like I said, help and constuctive criticism. If you want to join the team, email me at darkrend7@gmail.com. I'll tell you more and we can figure things out that way.

I'm a teenager looking to make games. Simple as that. I've always been interested in video games, and now I'm taking it a step further.

As long as i dont get paid, i can use it on mac osx 10.6, i will test and fully support all the games you create. Also, when i mean support i mean:
    -give ideas
-give software ideas that are free
    -give good copy right offices
-test every one of the games i can play
Also, i know a great game you can get people on. Blockland. Of 170,000 players on. Almost half are fully advanced coders, game maker, etc.

A good thread to read on game creation is located here. I wrote it to be geared towards MMO (my current focus), but it is just as good when applied generically. I'll probably rewrite it to make it more generic one day, but not any time soon. Hope it helps.

Okay, thanks everyone. I'm good for now when it comes to help, but I'll post again when assisstance is needed. If you have something exciting to share, or if you want to join the studio, let me know. I"ll still accept that.
