Multi-touch for T3D?

by Rex Hiebert · in Torque 3D Professional · 10/29/2009 (10:06 pm) · 4 replies

There are quite a few all-in-one pc's with multi-touch capability hitting the market. For certain types of applications/games, this would be a great interface. I did a search on multi-touch in the forums but it all seems to be related to Torque for the iPhone. Is there any chance of getting this implemented in T3D?

Rex, just a heads up. You can do whatever you want with this engine. If you want to add TouchScreen interrupts and catch their event handelers in the GUI's already being demonstrated in T3D. By All Means. You have the source. That being said there is always a possiblity. If you really need it for a project I suggest you hit up the job's forum and see if you can get someone to make the interrupts.

I asked this a few weeks ago, ..it went without an answer.

main problem with multi touch support is that the vast majority of multi touch capable hardware at the same time comes with graphics hardware that isn't even worth the waver that was wasted for the chip and thus might end with a "lowest possible BL" visual end (AL is near granted out by definition aside of custom build convention / museum cases)

I don't see that as a problem. Obviously better systems will follow.
