online documentation not matching what I see in the demo

very often while reading the online documentation trying to learn torque what the documentation shows as far as screenshots with UI options listed is a good deal different that what I actually am looking at while running the demo.

Is the full version of torque that much different from the demo or is the documentation outdated?

I know Michael is in the process of updating the documentation, but I'm not seeing anything so far in the current docs that doesn't match up. What exactly is it you're seeing that's different?

gosh many many areas are not syncronized with what is it your current documentation. I'll try to spend some time this afternoon and get you a handful of concrete examples. I thought it might be because I was using the 30 day trail, but I guess not eh?

30 day trial? I was under the assumption that you were talking about Torque 3D based on your previous threads. Are you actually referring to Torque Game Builder? That's the only engine with a 30 day trial.

the full blown torque 3d engine

-> http://www.garagegames.com/products/torque-3d

click "demo"

I am thinking I was trailing the full blown torque 3D application, the keystone application of garagragames? Am I right?

the documentation I've been reading is here

-> http://www.garagegames.com/documentation/torque-3d

it very often does not match the screens I look at when using the demo

I'm am stupid? doing something wrong???

Yes that's correct demo. I have spotted some screens that are different that I didn't catch when I scanned the docs earlier. A lot those screens were made with the Beta builds and as I said Michael is in the process of updating the docs to be current, which is much easier for him now that it has been released.

There's a Documentation Feedback thread in the T3D public forums. If there are images that are causing you trouble you can post which ones they are there to let him know.

so there is a Torque 3D demo and I am using it, meaning you were wrong in thinking there was only a demo for the game builder product (which I don't even know what that is) - am I right? Sorry again, but some of the this info is really confusing.

That's correct. The Torque 3D demo doesn't have a time limit and contains all the engine features minus the source code access. There is however a limit to the number of object that can be saved in a level, I believe it's 32.
