Great game! A couple of suggestions.

A health meter would be nice - the billowing smoke from the tank just doesn't tell me enough. More importantly, it would be nice to get some instant feedback when you're getting hit.
That, and there don't seem to be enough health powerups in the games I've played. Perhaps you could allow tanks to slowly regenerate a little health? I guess I'm just one of those players that likes to stay alive.
These, of course, are little things, and I'd just like to add that you've done a fantastic job with the game.

I do have a question.. Do you loose any power/speed when you smoke?
I have been trying to figure this out.. It "feels" like I am slower when heavily smoking but it might be psychological.

I agree Tally Ho, the smoking tanks add to the simplicity of the game.. I'm smoking... thats a bad thing..I do have a question.. Do you loose any power/speed when you smoke?

Totally perception. We did not want to penalize the player that is damaged. Funny how looking damaged makes you 'feel' damaged. ;)

That's all really secondary, though, since my computer died and I can't play it any more. :(

I have to agree with the first poster -- I really would like a health meter of some kind. It doesn't have to be precise, but I need to know -- did I just get hit or not? That's all really secondary, though, since my computer died and I can't play it any more. :(

Often the only indication that you've been hit is the little "ding" sound. But I've noticed in games with a lot of players this sound often doesn't get played, even though you're getting hit. I think a health meter would help resolve a lot of the ambiguity surrounding how much damage you have taken.
And how about people who are Hearing impaired? They'd probably like to know when they're getting hit as well :)

I'm actually all for a health meter of some sort, the smoke is nice, but often it is delayed as it takes times for the particles to build up. And it isn't always visible depending on how you're situated on the terrain.Often the only indication that you've been hit is the little "ding" sound. Also, perhaps having an extra health pickup (or two) on the map, it might provide a few more tactical options instead of just cliff diving to respawn with a fresh tank or cliff diving when in possession of the scrum just so that you might respawn close to the newly deployed one etc. If there are a couple of extra healths around, it makes evasion an even more viable option.

I'll second, or rather third, that too. Some kind of very small and simplistic health meter would be nice. As Dan says, sometimes it's difficult to see how much (or if any) smoke is coming from the back of your own tank.

Save for ammo! I just *never* see the "you need ammo" message, being too obsessed by the action/radar. Just one icon that appear after the level of "you need ammo" would be quite nice too.

Around the radar maybe?...

The life meter should be implemented right away. It would help a lot.Around the radar maybe?...

As far as an ammo meter or a "need ammo" icon, it's already there. The Reload Station blinks on the radar when you need ammo. If you see it blinking go to it!
Incidentally the scrum blinks until you get it, and when you have the scrum, the goal blinks. Watch for blinking things.

I cast "Yes" for a "low ammo" warning light that stays on screen - but not an ammo counter or level meter.

I guess I never noticed the need for a low ammo meter.. since I have never run out of ammo.. All my shots go into the targets I shoot and they die.. I always have plenty left when the game is done....Woah... Where am I.. I must have been dreaming..

I'd like to try a health metere, it really wouldn't be too difficult for BraveTree to mock one up and have a test client for those who were interested.

td, very amusing. dan gets his own plug for ammo meter, and maybe one for gas, and a rack on the back for mult-scrum.
