Hey guys, I am a student at Columbia college Chicago currently in my senior year capstone class and am needing assistance in exporting joint based animation from maya to torque 3d. Has anyone been successfully able to not have to use dts and export only using open collada ? I would greatly appreciate any sort of help from you guys, thanks a lot I truly do appreciate people taking the time to help.

How have you been man ? I hope all is well and good for ya. So I have a question. I have been exporting motion capture data into motion builder and applying the animation onto some character models and exporting back into maya and exporting out dae files into torque. The root pose comes in fine as shows below but for some reason when I add a sequence the animation plays fine but for some reason the models root and placement node snaps to the center of the of the grid.
The animation still plays fine but when it snaps to the center in the shape editor like that it does the same thing in game so basiclly when the animation is triggered it falls below the environment. Do you have any idea why this could be happening ? If possible if you have time would you be able to take a look at the root and animation sequence file and see if whithin the sequence file thier is something making the animation snap to the center of the grid ? I am pretty sure you are extremely busy, but again this would help a lot with this project for school. I feel bad always running to you for help with these things but you have been succesfull in solving all of the problems with these animations and for that I am beyond belief thankful.
Take care Chris,I hope that you can help out a bit in finding out what this problem may be. I have literally tried everything and I am figuring it might be an issue like last time with some form of scripting :)

Just threw the scripts in and as always you where right ! Everything plays perfectly with the exception of needing to change the in and outs but thats a super easy fix :) Thank you so much again Chris, I believe I def understand now what you mean by the nodes being different from the root to the rest of the animations so when importing the animations the positions are different from the root positions which makes things distorted ? Sorry if I am not understanding 100 percent but I am always wanting to learn and not have something just given to me :p I appreciate you giving me the scripts you are awesome.
