boats

i am trying to add boats to my game, but i can't seem to get them to work. When i add them to the scene they, bounce around in the water alot, and my attempts to fix it, just seemed to make it worse, and the world editor crashes every time the boat hits the bottom. I am not sure how to add boats so i was hoping someone could help me.
I would like the boats to just a static shape that can move around under your control, while your standing on it, i don't want it to be a veichle because i want you to be able to move around on it, while its sailing. All ideas are welcome, and critisims.

anyways i may have fixed the the bobbing probelm, bt it still crashes if it hits the bottom, i would also like to know if anyone thinks my idea will work, about have=ing a flaoting object you can walk around on while it moves through the water

it was flying thirty feet into the air, and then falling back down into the water, droping below a few feet, and then going back up. and if i placed somewhere where it could hit the bottom the game would crash, or at least i think it was hitting the bottom.anyways i may have fixed the the bobbing probelm, bt it still crashes if it hits the bottom, i would also like to know if anyone thinks my idea will work, about have=ing a flaoting object you can walk around on while it moves through the water
