Customize that baby!

I know that one of the big drawing points of the game is how easy it is to just jump in and play... But what is the possibility of being able to get a little bit more custom? Nothing like being able to adjust the torque (no pun intended) of the engine, but simple things like skinning your tank?
I'm already addicted (and I just bought it today), and now I'm looking to add some personality to my rig... anything planned?

any thoughts as to where I should start looking for the file? I've never gone diving for texture files on a mac before-- I wouldn't even know where to start... I found the button PNGs, but besides the obvious file extensions, I'm kinda lost

the dts shape is hard coded with the name of the skin so if you change it then the dts wont find it anymore.. : )

yep, the texture files are located witht he dts shape in torque, unlike T2 which has them seprated in different folders.. But if you do change your skin, no one else will see it unless you give them the changed skin, which in turn will change the skin for them too.. So just be careful when you do it and be sure to leave the name the same or it wont register the textures anymore..the dts shape is hard coded with the name of the skin so if you change it then the dts wont find it anymore.. : )

Would it be possible in future releases to allow users to create their own levels?

You can use terrain editor, custom terrain skins, and use WC or quark to make your own levels that are fully customized.

ThinkTanks does not ship with the editors enabled. At some point in the future, we may open it up and release some tools for customiztion, but for now, we want to stick with what ships with the game so that we can ensure a consitent experience fgor new users.Joe
