Removing Light/Ambience from the Sun

Someone brought this up and it is a good question. If I wanted to create something as a dts and then have it "cancel" out the light from the sun and the ambience changes is there a way to do that short of removing the sun? I knew you could with DIFs before and perhaps you still can.

This seems like it would be a job for zones. I don't know if they do that or not, but it seems like it may be good functionality. Custom ambient/vector inside a zone?

Meshes do have a custom ambient specified but I'm not certain it's working.

Would imagine having some option in the zone to turn this on/off would be beneficial (options are always the best). Same thing not to occlude the sky would be beneficial as well.

At least deals with the dts file.
