uni-code does not work - Seeing text

by Robert Sutton · in Torque 3D Beginner · 10/04/2009 (6:52 pm) · 3 replies

From a turkish stand point one of my developers were trying to install the engine.

He discovered that he could not read text or there was none.

TGE Supported his Unicode since he is from turkey, where he could read the texts and see what they are.

Tgea did not allow this either, and nbow t3d doesnt either.

Suggestions for fix?

If not, this is not multi lingual application. I think GG you should investigate and find why TGE was able to support this but not your other two engines.

None of the engines have supported unicode well, haven't tried with T3D but both TGE and TGEA could render unicode character sets but wouldn't handle input i.e. entering data in a texteditctrl.

There are loads of threads around the site where people have worked on getting it getting in different versions of the engine i'd suggest you start there and search the forums

There's an IME resource out there to enable input of CJK languages
