Side projection in terrain stretches it on the flat surfaces

Side projection when ticked in beta 5 seemed ok but after moving our world over into 1.0 the testures are all stretched.
Turning off side projection makes it appear ok.

By side it means a projection in only the XY axis... not Z.
In general side projection is only useful on very steep surfaces... greater than 50 degrees at least. Putting it on all your terrain materials is a big waste of fillrate.
If you need the same texture projected on the sides and on the ground... use two different materials.
