A bit off topic, but relevant if you are currently a student

Just something i accidentally stumbled on today, wish i had known about this when i was still a student, and its only relevant if you are a hobbyist like myself since an educational version prevents commercially released products using the software.

Jif you are a student and can prove it there is quite a huge discount for Autodesks entire modeling and animation suite. 350 bucks for over $5000 worth of software. And they are a licensed autodesk reseller.

true, but still a heck of a discount if you are learning and have no intention of releasing anything commercial and the license in the link above is a perpetual license so it is still valid once you have completed your studies, though commericial use is still prohibited.

I just stumbled across that license myself (different store though) and was thinking about it. Even though you can't do anything commercial with it I'm pretty sure I saw something about being able to upgrade the licenses individually on Autodesk's site somewhere.
