Some questions about the torque game engine

Hello.

My name is clayton roy. i've been designing games for a while, and i have decided to actually attempt to make them. i have a few questions about the torque game engine.

1. is that chat window you see in alot of screenshots moveable. i mean can i make it thinner and put it accross the bottom of the screen.

2. how many people does it support online? is it changeable?

3. If you have an independent licence for torque. must you publish it with garage games?

thank you very much,

Clayton A. Roy

1. Yes. It can be moved, resized, or just gotten rid of.
2. I think its hardcoded 128. But 64 is probably more realistic.
3. No.

ok so u can publish it independently then without having to pay the $10,000? that is if it doesnt make over $500,000... because we plan to personally publish it if we can.

You only have to pay the $10k if you make over $500k from the game.

You're a bit off with that last part Jason. You have to pay $10k if your annual revenue (publishers revenue counts in this too) exceeds $500,000, not if that single game makes $500,000.

Quote:(b) Licensee may not use the Software in whole or in part to create products for competing game publishing companies, commercial websites, or any other commercial or non-commercial entity, whether public or private if the sum of the annual revenue of the Licensee and publishing entity exceeds $500,000, without obtaining a COMMERCIAL LICENSE from the Licensor.

oh ok so if my game in the first year were to make 500K i would owe 10k but then the next if it made 100k i wouldnt owe it?

The 10k is a one time fee for that title. You only need to pay it once for every game that you sell. This is of course if you are exceeding the 500k limit.

Correct but that is per title. If you made 1 million dollars over three years on one single title then all you owe GG is 10K for that title only. If you made another title then it would start all over again for that new title. I think this is as good a deal as ANYONE is going to get!
