GUI Problems on Mac and Pc

I'm in the process of making a gui but I can't make it on the mac because when i try to load in bitmap images all the images are grayed out and it won't let me select anything. When i make a gui on my pc everything works out but when i right click on the menu and add buttons to it they got moved to a different location and when i try to move them to where they should be they are no longer local to the main menu. Has anyone else ran across these problems on mac or pc?

What filetypes are you trying to load? Is it not at all showing up/being selectable in file selection? Try editing the GUI source files manually in a text editor, and refer to images by basename (drop the .png in PNGs and so on).

I'm trying to load pngs and jpgs are grayed out as well. It seems manually editing the gui file is the only way to actually get the images to appear; I'd much rather do that then manually type in the position for each image.

all images are greyed and are not selectable. the workaround is to edit the .gui fieles directly in xcode ditor... i hope there is an update for the mac soon.

hi! iam working with Torque Game Builder 1.7.4 on MAC OSX 10.5.8 and i have the same problem: i can not import any image into the Gui Editor with the standard dialog. all images are greyed and are not selectable. the workaround is to edit the .gui fieles directly in xcode ditor... i hope there is an update for the mac soon.

The next version should not have these issues as it is based on the Torque 3D codebase and I have not heard of anything like this from any of our Mac users. Of course, I haven't seen this from very many Mac users using 1.7.4, either so I would really like to isolate what is happening. What graphics chipset does your Mac have?

I am using TGB on Mac and Windows, and don't have any Mac-specific GUI problems. (Actually, one of my current problems is that pop-up menus on Windows draw incorrectly or worse crash in some cases, while on the Mac they are fine. LIkely I can't resize the control the way I am... sigh.)

I emailed someone from garagegames and he had this to say "I seem to remember a couple of posts many years ago about the guiBitmapCtrl and changing the filter options to add PNG and JPG's, but I thought it was a problem with 1.6. I can't find the post now, though. I've been searching and can't find it." Hope this helps at all with finding a solution.
