Character Studio 4?

Hello All,
I am a newbie here so forgive me if I am making a stupid mistake...
I have been running through the intro doc and ran into a stumbling block with the export of the Player.max file. It crashes max every time. The other non Character Studio files work. I am using Max 5.1 and Character Studio 4. I have read in numerous posts and verified for my self that Max 5 is compatible, but what about Character Studio 4? Anybody got any tips?
