Mutliple meshes, Multirez & adjustLODs

I have several files that contain more than one mesh my attempts to export the dts with the multirez modifier have crashed Max.
The same seems to occur with more than one material assigned to the mesh as well. In fact, now that I think about it, perhaps that is the root cause.
I have successfully exported single mesh file without a hitch.
Any suggestions, enlightenment and/or direction pointing will be, as always, greatly appreciated.

Yea, I think your initial suspicion is correct. I was always told to stay away from multiple materials on a single mesh. So I'm pretty sure that's your problem. The multiple mesh thing should be fine, I've done it before, but it has been awhile.

Well here's a question: If I have mutliple meshes, why can't each mesh have it's own texture map?
What I'm doing is separating out the mesh that needs to be double sided (2-sided) from the one that does not have to be. I would have thought that would be fine. So is this a multirez "limitation" or the DTS?
Thanks again for the response :)
@Picasso: you do it on the poly level. Not sure how to do it in Max as I model and UV in Modo.

Yup. It was the dual texture.Well here's a question: If I have mutliple meshes, why can't each mesh have it's own texture map?

I don't know if I understood you right or not , but I see that you want to export a mesh that uses several textures for its faces. Usually this is done via Multi/Sub-Object material type in max.I don't know if double sided for some of the sub materials could cause a problem.
If you wish to export more than one meshes and each of them use separate material (no matter if they are "Standard" or "Multi/Sub Objects) you
should have no problems exporting them.
By the way I don't have experience with multires modifier. The best way to make LODs for your meshes is to setup them manually. Just make copies , optimize them , give them appropriate detail levels and export.
Give it a try with COLLADA if you have problems with the DTS exporter.
