Poly count increase on mesh projection technic

Hi...
I have a flat wall model with projection modifier to bump real bricks.
When I exported it as .dae it looks like as there are real bricks on the wall but I export the same .max file as .dts there is no bricks on the wall.
Original flat wall polycount is 96, if I use .dae could I take the same polycount ?
