I need so ideas for quest

I need some ideas from other people for some side quests in my game. I'm hoping that if i get quest ideas i can make the game longer and more enjoyable for everyone. But i need some input so can you give me some ideas.

FedEx man quests get old fast. Make your quests long enough so you can get some sort of plot across. Baldur's Gate 2 is a great example of how good a side quest can be. Many of them took me hours to complete.

You need to be more specific. Your post tells us nothing about the game you're working on, and after reading your profile all I know is that you are thinking about making an RPG/Adventure. We don't know what you're thinking.Ill leave what specifics we need to know up to you.

Its going to be a large online network kind of like Everquest but it will have a normal game with out haveing to be online. for people who cant use the internet all the time. It will a series of events going on through out the online game year where every one can go and make some friends and have fun. It will be a fantacy.

Put in stray pop culture references. For instance, in the Fallout series, you find things like pictures of Elvis and alien spaceships.And then just have someone tell them to do something with whatever weirdness you put in the game.

Why not some kinda of solve a string of murders type quest.. Perhaps have several outcomes of it... The mayor of the town is the real criminal (maybe even he's a werewolf or some such). Then there being a new comer, or tramp, or some such mysterious guy that everyone wants to use as a scape goat. The hero could expose the true evil guy or use the scape goat and gain a powerful evil ally. Even taking it farther to where the hero kidnaps people from far away to feed the mayor evil things ((dark art, werewolf feeding time, whatever)) as to make everyone in town believe scapegoat was the real guy. Then of course some such reward would be given whenever evil guy was apleased. Of course exposing the plot may give you a good guy status in the town and maybe even the mysterous scapegoat as an NPC.. just a quick top o the head idea..

The genius spark was that player didnt have to complete quest step by step and then find the real murderer. Instead, you could choose person you thought being suspicious or simply didnt like and turn him/her in. I did turn in themost suspicious worker, took reward and didnt bother digging deeper.
And then it came: later in the game, doing some other sidequest I learned who was the real killer. I have never been ashamed of my actions in game before and since, but that day I felt so bad...

Crime solving can be made a very good quest. I remember Planescape Torment where at one stage player had to solve murder in some kind of factory.The genius spark was that player didnt have to complete quest step by step and then find the real murderer.
