Heya everyone!
I just registered for my second semester of distant learning courses; take 2 coding courses, 2 art type course and College Algabra 2.
One of the arti type courses I elected to take is 3dsmax5, courses do not start until may so I would like to get a jump on 3dsmax5.
Could someone recommened a decent online resource for learning 3dsmax5? I have been mucking with the tutorials that come with max5, but am looking for more to feed the hunger inside.

Thanxs for the insight, I have done a massive search and found numerous tutorial choices. I was just looking for recommendations from those who are 3dsmax aware and possible used a few online tutorials.
Would really hate to spend numerous hours reading tutorials that are absolutly crap

When I was learning 3dsMax one of the best tutorial sites was 3dcafe.com
Since then they have moved their best tutorials into the "VIP members only" section (which you have to pay an unreasonable monthly fee to access, unfortunately). There are still many free Max tutorials of varying quality, however.
Here's a link to the freebies: http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/tut3ds.asp

www.3dbuzz.com has some good ones, as well as several hours worth of video tutorials (called VTM's). To get to them, create an account, login, then in the upper left, click the download link.

Also, the polycount community has a ton of modeling tutorials for game related stuffs, another awesome community as well. I've only checked out the quake3arena modeling stuff, www.planetquake.com/polycount/resources/quake3/tutorials.shtml
I hope that helps you a bit. These are the ones that help me flesh out my max skillset.
Best of luck

If you goto this site:
http://www.kirupaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13133
Youll find quite a few good tutorial sites there. Just scroll down the page a little until you find "3ds Max" I believe

if you really want to do some tutorials, the 3DSMAX community have produced an absolute pile of very good tutorials, though i cant remember the names myself, all oyu have to do is use your search engine of choice and search for quite specific tutorials (the general ones usually arent much help).
