Broken forum

by Michael Putters · in Torque 3D Professional · 08/22/2009 (5:56 am) · 21 replies

Could someone at GarageGames *PLEASE* fix the forum, it's been broken for months and just needs a fix to its queries that select the list of threads to display, mostly - I guess - because it doesn't take sticky threads into accounts when selecting them, which means we miss a bunch of threads that just went out of the first page.
So now I want to check the purelight thread to order it and guess what, it's stuck somewhere between page 1 and 2, so I have to find the user who posted it then search for his other threads...
I've reported it already in other forums including the one dedicated specifically to this and nobody at GG seems to care...

I agree,
this is something, which needs to be fixed.
To reach the thread we need to find the user who posted it and use the search engine.

*bump* (since it fell off page 1, into the dark world of page 1.5)

So I see a lot of GG people in the "omg they copied Torque 3D on warez sites" but not much in here...

More bump
This thread has about as much success as the documentation one

Something does seem to be wrong in the forums... I get emails stating people have posted on specific threads but then when I follow the link, their posts aren't showing up in the thread.

I haven't noticed any problems. Then again I usually only really pay attention to threads on my watch list.

So to define the problem, there are threads that get lost when going off the first page?

Yes, there is a gap between page 1 and 2, probably because of the sticky threads
For other forums with less sticky threads it's not that bad but here half the threads are sticky on the first page => half the recent threads missing

Maybe if someone becomes irate or abrasive or inflammatory.
They always seem to answer after something stupid draws their attention.
..that has always made me laugh: too busy to help but not too busy to post in a flaming thread.

I haven't noticed the problem because I'm constantly watching all of the threads. I'd recommend reporting it in the site feedback forum. I'll also send a link to the webteam.

Did the same persons test this update of TP as the last one?
-If so, they missed the same problems twice...

The latest big site update was more about laying the groundwork for the new studio functionality more than bug fixes. Though there were some site bugs that did get fixed in it. With that done our web dev will be able to focus on improvements and site bug fixes and I know that this is on his list.
