Valhyre start

I am not a programmer myself, I am just an idea man with some funding, So what I did was contract some artist and a couple of programers and started on a project. The project is called "Valhyre" (thats pronounced "Val HIRE")

We used the TGE system to create a tech demo. We are thinking about using the Shader engine, to improve the graphics and other features. I wanted to show some screen shots of what we have done so far.

The first one is of a scenic stone bridge over a small river

This one is of a view of the trees and small brush

and the final one shows a player character gliding over the top of a temple

The trees are done in 3dsmax. We were going to use speedtree(tm) but didnt have time to get it integrated with Torgue. We have a license just didnt have time. This tech demo we did was completed in 3 weeks and we wanted to get it done to show a few people at the Austin Developers Conference.

The structure you see in the one snapshot was done in 3dsmax as well. its just a shell and was hastily done to add something to the area besides grass and trees.

The problem we are having now is that we have over 100 structures (houses, dungeons, etc) that were done in 3dsmax for a different project and we would like to use them in the TGE but have not found a good way to import them in. The structures are too good to throw away and dont have the resources to recreate them in quark or other tools.

This sounds interesting, and looking forward to see some SpeedTree shots.
(I plan to get SpeedTree for our project too (when we get a bit more along)), Ive been wanting that since I saw it in torque shots first tiem -and their site demos rock.

I like that flying fella a lot. Cool idea!

About buildings, arent thay easily exported to Torque format using map2dif ?

Christian,

We have been able to export the outsides but the interiors are giving us a fit. But then I am not a programmer type I just know what the artists are telling me.
