This past weekend was different from my previous GIDs in a lot of ways.

As I posted previously, I decided to go 24 consecutive hours, instead of spreading the time over the course of the weekend. This dictated my design choices, since I knew I'd be sleep-deprived most of the time. Mainly, I decided to go for something light on code and heavy on artwork. Rather than manipulating pixels, I drew nearly all of the graphics in colored pencil. And the theme is dark and surreal -- completely different from my usual humorous, cartoony style.

The game itself reflects the altered state of mind I was in while working on it*. It's muddy and impressionistic. Rather than being based on a mystery, the game itself is a mystery. You play a game for unknown reasons against an opponent you never see. It has the feel of a first-person adventure, but there is no resolution.

In fact, as I write this, everything is still a blur. I might just wake up and realize I dreamt the whole thing. Or maybe I'm awake and you are dreaming?

I played it. It's pretty cool what can be achieved in a day of straight coding / drawing - although I have to admit to not really understanding the game.

Good work man!

Martin, the less you know, the more you will understand.

This game is really cool. Surreal and dark, the music is very good and totally helps set the mood.
I like the film grain effect also. Reminds me of the first Postal game only with cards...very wierd =)
