Yay !!!
NOTE: there ARE pictures in this .plan
I finally managed to pull Basic Bob: Island of Misfits into an early beta. All the code is done :) All the art is in :) Well, all the art except one simple, measily, kick animation. (Any volunteers???) I would do it myself, but I don't have max, and I only have the scene in max format :(
It has nag screens, and demo timers, and a limited number of levels. :D
I still have a few things here and there to do:
- Get that last animation into the game
- Collect the last of the voice recordings (3 recordings)
- Place a few voice overs here and there for things like getting a weapon, and picking up shoes
- Buy a sound effects pack and put sfx in
- Make a music loop for the final Boss
- Fix up the websites (Thanks a ton to Joseph for helping me out with a logo and site)
- Give the NPC dialogs another iteration. I don't think they're good enough yet.
- Make sure I included everyone in the credits :)
- Run a week of beta testing
If anyone feels like volunteering a final boss loop or doing some beta testing next week send me an email. Chris [at] spunkygames [dot] com ... or post here :) Any help would be much appreciated
So ya. This is great. I now understand why people say that the last 20% of a game takes 80% of the effort / time. The last stint of work is hard core. It's simple to get content into the game, but bringing that content up to snuff is rough.
Here's the picture. It's just a screenshot. I've tried to include art from all 3 of the artists that have contributed to the game.
Basic Bob and his weapons and pack were completed by Kevin Grove.

Bob's House, along with ALL of the other houses, were completed by Todd Pickens.

And the fairy and turtle (just it's head) were completed by Evi Suryani.
