Plan for Sam Bacsa

Patch to allow for offline authorization has now been implemented and is available for download. Also fixed a few bugs. As I said on my forums, here is the list of updates to the update (heh):
- Added offline activation support
- Fixed random exceptions that occurred as a result of tab switching (this was an object browser plugin problem; thanks to Claudio for fixing it)
- Fixed problems with the activation cache overwriting itself when you went into preferences and committed some changes
- Fixed a problem that caused an exception when opening a file
- Fixed bugs listed in Mantis
There is now also an account management page (as you can from the screenshot above) which you can control all this stuff from. You can visit that here.
The last exciting thing I want to share with everyone here is the implementation of my Remote Authorization system. This system allows webmasters to check with the TorqueDev servers to see if a user is authorized for specific products so he or she can give the user access to content that would otherwise be unavailable to them. You can get more information about this system on this forum post (which actually leads you to other links, heh).
That's it for now.
Oh, and I was toying with the idea of selling ad space on the welcome screen which is shown every time TorqueDev is started. It wouldn't be anything ridiculously large or anything. Right now I'm plugging Brandon's Torque tutorials, but I figure I can stick anything in that area below any important announcements, and offer space there to anyone who wants to promote something for some cheap $20/day or two or something. At the moment, I've got a bit less than 100 activations in the system and it's only day 2 of Delta 4's release, which means that an advertiser could reach potentially hundreds of developers per day.

Of course, I'd have stringent requirements for something like that too. Nothing too large, no animated GIFs, include a nice blurb, etc ... I'm thinking the bit I have up on Brandon's tutorials would probably be a good template.
I'd like to hear people's thoughts on this, should anyone have any.
Thanks,
Sam

I hope that that auth token is fake. ;)

Ben, I'd have it no other way :)

$20/day for a few hundred hits doesnt seem too great of a price to me, though it's been a while since i've looked at advertisment pricing.

1) It'd be exclusive to the advertiser for the whole day. It's not a rotating ad;
2) You'd definitely be guaranteed to the type of audience you want: game developers;
3) It would be more than just a banner, but a nice blurb with a description and everything;
4) Everyone who starts up the program, every time, would see that.
Obviously I'd float a price amongst people I know before I decide on something. Thanks for your input, though. I really appreciate it.

@Jason: Well I'll probably make it less, but the reason I said $20 is because:1) It'd be exclusive to the advertiser for the whole day. It's not a rotating ad;
2) You'd definitely be guaranteed to the type of audience you want: game developers;
3) It would be more than just a banner, but a nice blurb with a description and everything;
4) Everyone who starts up the program, every time, would see that.
