Plan for Phil Carlisle

Well, posting from an internet cafe in thailand, so no piccies AGAIN!!! argh!

But a quick update to say that in the course of investigating air combat AI for my next AI Wisdom book chapter, I've been looking at some issues involved in vehicle AI and am slowly rolling those into the AI for Air Ace (which is also our much-bloody-delayed AI pack).

Course things have kind of been delayed on the AI pack, mainly because we are all so bloody busy!!

Air Ace is coming along nicely, although slower whilst I'm away. I'm hoping to put in some really heavy time on it when I get back home in the run up to IGC in October!

Air Ace is potentially going to be a killer game!, I've been sure of it since we did the first prototype months ago, but since then there have been some very strong signs that opportunity waits just round the corner when we ship the game.

But this is the time.. its the make or break point in the project. The time when I really have to force myself to work some on it, snatches of time. In amongst other work and of course being on holiday (thailand right now).

So yeah, Ive got 2 and a half weeks left on my round the world tour, Ive got a game thats going to potentially tear everyone a new one at IGC in the showOFF and to top it all, Ive got some great new stuff to teach when I get back to work!!!

Anyway, I'll try and stay in touch from taiwan, only I'm not sure how the internet acces is there, so if I dont get online from there, see you in september!!!

Ola from the weary traveller!

Out.

"Ola from the weary traveller" To bad about no pics Phil, traveling the world sounds great. And your blogs kinda remind of the traveling gnome commercials heh :)

I hope the lack of photos is resolved with a monster pic plan when you get back home. Photos of each major landmark you've visited would be nice :P
