Theme Music!
Well, we had several musicians approach us for Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa, all of which we turned down in favor of royalty-free stock music. Composer John Seguin (profile, website) came back to us with a great deal, however, and we gave him a shot at composing a title track for our game. After going back and forth a little on audio themes for the game, this piece is what he came up with in just a weekend.
This is a first draft, it will be edited before it is final, and it is copyright PocketWatch Games. We're all really excited about continuing to work with John in the future. He's classically trained and is very versatile as a composer/editor.
Anyone looking for music for their game should contact him. You may also want to try Ajari Wilson (profile) or Roman Salynski.
John Seguin's work beat out my expectations, met my requirements, and was done extremely quickly. This title track will really add to the character of the game.

Nice track. Very upbeat and savanah like! Was wondering what the trombones simulated and attributed it to elephants :-)

I know that John does excellent work, and is a pleasure to work with. Congratulations to both of you for getting this together!

funny how similar of an experience I've had with music with what multiple musicians, stock music, etc.
I can vouch for John Seguin, we investigated using custom tunes by him for shelled. though the music didn't work out, John was professional and a pleasure to work with, and the music was very good. I'd encourage anyone with a serious game to contact him for sure.
